It’s a Federal Law, Idiot

As you may or may not know…I just love crabby customers. I love my job but I don’t always like that crabby customers. Sometimes I get a kick out of them, and once or twice I’ve had to make an excuse to walk away to get someone else because I was going to start laughing. Just one of those things I suppose. The occasional angry customer is sometimes a blast.
So yesterday I was up front and some hillbilly, his buddy, and his little mullet wearing kid were up front by the air conditioners. So he yells over “Hey bud I want this air conditioner.” I don’t work in appliances. I work in computers, electronics, and housewares. So, naturally, I was caught off guard by it, but I had to help them since none of the other salesmen were around. I asked which one, and he said “This one!” He wanted the $87 ad piece one…cheapo. So I just said, “Yeah, sure I’ll check to see if we have it in stock.” I walked over to my computer, punched in the item number, went back, said “I don’t have that in stock.” He said “Well, I want that one then.” I preceded to tell him that I couldn’t sell him the floor model since it was in our ad. He said, “Well why not?!?” I started to explain without going into too much detail and I was kind of stumbling over my words when I started. Then the rude guy started mocking me going “uh uh uh.” in some cocky voice. If it was my last day I would have punched him right in the face. He said, “See you don’t even know what you are talking about.” After I was taken back from shock by that comment, I regained composure and came back with, “I very much know what I’m talking about. The fact is I cannot sell you that floor piece because it is a Federal law that we display every piece that is in our ad to prove that we have it.” He just looked at me and said, “Well you sure don’t have any of them!!” He was getting pretty angry. I said, “I’m sorry I’m not the one that controls the inventory, I just sell it.” So he then came back with the usual action for people that don’t like to listen. “Give me your manager!” I told him that my manager can’t do anything that I can’t do in this situation. Of course he didn’t buy that comment. What do I care? I got my manager. I don’t get paid enough to deal with people like that, but I sure do love them. Makes me laugh and smile because I know I’m a happy person and love life.

Yoder I Love those customers too…. Like The lady with the printer… This lady came in wanting a new printer for her computer. I asked her “So what kind of printer was it?” she said “It was Hp id like to have one the same brand.” So We started to walk over to them.. I showed her what we had and ask her “So how long you have your printer and computer?” she repilied “Oh ten years!” I said “Oh no, thats not good…..paused I don’t have any printers that’ll work with your computer they take different cables and your computer won’t have it.” She looked at me and said “Why the heck am I even here…. You can’t help me…. I hate you!” I was like “Sorry, I don’t want to sell you something you can’t use and going to bring it right back!” I laughed so sosososososososo hard….. Man I love that place i love that people get so so mad like its going to make what they want poof into the store! Its crazy.
